HISTORY / GEOGRAPHY TEACHER(H/F)
Maternity & Parental leave – CDD

MAIN MISSIONS

Under the authority of the school head and in collaboration with the head of the international service, you will have the following missions:

  • Teaching History / Geography full-time (in English)
    • in the British International Section in seconde, première and terminale, preparing students to their baccalaureate examinations of the BFI (Baccalauréat français international) in its British and bilingual version.
    • In the European section
  • Providing all the learning activities in connection with the curriculum and follow-up (tests and corrections – individual feedback – …)
  • Collaborating with other teachers and members of the team,
  • Carrying out different educational and administrative tasks (class council, reports, open day…)

These BFI students follow the French curriculum with an additional international package. They are bilingual and have additional classes given in English in their programme. They are assessed at the same level in French and English. Their courses include History/Geography, Literature, Global Issues.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Qualified History-Geography teacher with a corresponding degree and a genuine passion for the subject and for teaching.
  • The applicant can be a native English speaker or show proof of equivalent level (C2 on the CECRL scale).
  • Being a team player and being committed to high quality learning and teaching are essential assets.
  • British curriculum, teaching experience in Great Britain and British teaching qualification will be a plus.
  • Experience in the British International Section will be appreciated.

PREREQUISITES :

  • Education:  University Degree in History / Geography – Master’s degree
  • Duration: From March 2024 to June 2025 (maternity leave + provisional parental leave).

Notre-Dame du Grandchamp is a polyvalent catholic school in Versailles, under contract with the French Government, where students are attending their last three years of high school in various sections (general – technological – vocational). It also provides post-baccalaureate education to more than 1450 students (« CPGE », « prépas DCG », « BTS », « Licences » and Masters in partnership with the CNAM).
