The French International School Marguerite Duras, in Ho Chi Minh City, is a state-owned, AEFE-affiliated school with 1,200 students from kindergarten to high school.

The British International Section operates from Year 2 to Year 13.

Position : Secondary teacher – September 2025
Subject:  : history and geography in English
School: French International School Marguerite Duras – Ho Chi Minh City,  VIETNAM

Job Profile :
  • Teach history-geography to students in the international section, in secondar school
  • Take an active part in promoting the international section of the French Lycée within the school and its environment: open house, videoconferences, etc.
  • Participate in the section’s educational projects (MUN, exchanges, etc.).
  • Contribute to the guidance and orientation of students towards Anglophone higher education.
  • Collaborate with teachers of disciplines not specific to the section.
  • Adopt a professional, appropriate, and ethical posture in a multicultural environment.
  • Provide a full teaching service of 18h/week, including hours of ESL teaching.
  • In addition to these hours, the teacher is required to prepare lessons, mark them and take part in discussions and consultations with the teaching teams. The teacher also takes part in class council meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and in the specific case of the International Section, section council meetings.
Candidate requirements:
  • 1. be a native speaker of the language of the section
    or, if not, demonstrate a C2 level in all language skills in the language of the section.
  • 2. hold qualifications, diplomas (Master or equivalent) or experience enabling them to teach history or geography in secondary schools in the section’s partner country, or in an education system with the same language and a similar pedagogical tradition
  • 3. have five years’ teaching experience in history and/or geography:
    in the British education system
    or           in an educational system with the same language and similar teaching tradition
    or           in an international section or in a class leading to the BFI.
  • Ability to develop pedagogical expertise.
Skills required :
  • Know how to assess pupils’ learning and explain learning objectives to them in the context of a French school and the BFI.
  • Establish a climate of mutual trust in the classroom,
  • Constantly and kindly solicit contributions from pupils.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer technology in the classroom, for and with students
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Adaptability, availability and proven interpersonal skills.
Terms and conditions:

The candidate will be employed directly by the Lycée and will work under the authority of the headmaster.
