Ermitage International School Group based in Maisons-Lafitte, is looking to recruit a Bilingual Primary School Head for September 2025. More details below and Application Pack.
Ermitage International School is a leading international bilingual day and boarding school which offers two distinct programs of study (French curriculum and IB) and the benefit of almost 80 years’ experience to some 1500 students from Maternelle to Terminale (Pre-K to 12th grade). Situated in a leafy suburb on the river Seine just 20 minutes from central Paris, Maison-Laffitte provides students with a safe and beautiful learning environment, inspiring a love of learning, sense of self-awareness and the confidence to become future leaders.
Supported in nurturing and intercultural surroundings, students are encouraged to become active participants in their own learning journey, developing important skills in critical thinking and adaptability, and fostering a thirst for learning which characterises their journey from pre-school to the baccalaureate. Ermitage Pre-K starts at age three. Accredited by the National Ministry of Education, the Pre-K and Primary School programs take inspiration from the latest pedagogical research, adapting to each child and offering a truly bilingual environment in French and English. Depending on linguistic background, a flexible approach to choosing the best class for each child (either 60/40 or 50/50) ensures every student reaches middle school at their full potential.
The Board is now looking to appoint the Bilingual Primary School Head, reporting directly into the Group Executive President. This person’s vision, commitment, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning will guide the Primary School in maintaining and developing a strong intellectual, physical, social and emotional foundation for students. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of education leadership, strong commercial instincts and a flexible, collaborative approach which will enable them to work closely with other Heads across the group. Alignment with the values and ethos of Ermitage International School and fluency in French will be essential.
Ermitage is part of a private equity backed group of six schools, four of which are near Paris, one in Brussels and one in Aix-en-Provence. This is an exciting time to join a successful and growing group of schools committed to academic excellence and outstanding pastoral care.
