HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY TEACHER, HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM

THE FRENCH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MARGUERITE DURAS IN HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM, IS SEEKING TO RECRUIT FOR JANUARY 2020, A HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY TEACHER.
Start Date: January 2020 / ASAP

The French International Lycee Marguerite Duras in Ho Chi Minh City, an AEFE-affiliated school with 1,200 students from kindergarten to high school, is looking to recruit a qualified secondary teacher of History and Geography  from January 2020 or ASAP, to teach the French History and Geography curriculum in English to its international classes (year 8-11).

The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified teacher from the United Kingdom. Knowledge of the French Language is a plus. Candidates should be motivated, energetic and able to work as part of a team. They should be prepared to play an active part in the life of the History and Geography Department. They will also be offered some training if need be.

You will be employed directly by the Lycée and your contract will be governed by Vietnamese Law.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Starting date: as soon as possible / January 2020
Campus: Ðu?ng so 11, Long Th?nh M?, Qu?n 9, H? Chí Minh
Position of 8 hours/week (Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday morning)
You will be employed directly by the Lycée and your contract will be governed by Vietnamese Law.
Transport to the school is at the expense of the candidate.
Work permit and visa approval will be discussed with each candidate.

MISSION:

The teacher’s main mission will be to provide students with knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to develop skills in the subject.

 

 

RESPONSABILITIES:

 

Conducting History and Geography lessons in English for middle school and high school.
Designing and implementing learning or teaching situations based on French programs and standards.
Conveying subject knowledge.Designing and implementing methods of assessment of student’s learnings, in liaison with other teachers.
Contributing to teamwork.
Adapting his/her teaching to the diversity of students by providing each of them with the necessary support, and assess their achievements.
Using educational softwares to support learning.
 

SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

English Native speaker.
Recognized qualification in Teaching (Master’s, PGCE, QTS, CAPES).
Deep understanding of the subject and the curriculum.
Experience in teaching in Middle and High school is preferable.
Knowledge of the French curriculum is an advantage.
Able to adapt to French-speaking and non French-speaking students.
A good command of French is a plus.
