The Anglophone Section at the Cité Scolaire Internationale (CSI) in Lyon, France provides a world-class and comprehensive education to its students from across the English-speaking world. The Anglophone Section, which was established in 1987, is one of nine international sections that cohabit within the one-of-a-kind internationally-minded institution that is the CSI Lyon. Students who attend the Anglophone Section at the CSI study a dual programme which is bilingual (English & French) in its medium of instruction and bicultural. Our Section has delivered consistently outstanding exam results and university placements for our graduates. The Section is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced English Language and Literature teacher to join our department. The chosen candidate will teach across secondary school year-groups (11-17 years old), starting as soon as possible.

The position is for 18 teaching hours a week (plus 3 hours to run secondary school activities such as the school library). The successful applicant will be given a permanent contract (“Contrat à Durée Indéterminée”). Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined according to our internal pay scale. A relocation allowance is available for qualifying candidates to ensure they find accommodation in Lyon.

Applicants should

  • Have a relevant first degree and a PGCE or equivalent international teaching diploma
  • Have min. 2 years’ relevant teaching experience in an English-speaking country and/or international educational setting school preferably with some IGCSE/A-level or equivalent experience in English language and literature
  • Be knowledgeable in student-centered and inquiry-based pedagogy and curriculum design
  • Be a native-level English speaker
  • Preferably have a basic knowledge of French.
