Head of English

British Section, Lycée Victor Hugo, Colomiers, France

Required for September 2018: Head of English, British Section, Lycée International Victor Hugo, Colomiers France.

The British Section situated in the beautiful Toulouse area has an established reputation for academic excellence and examination results at all levels are outstanding.

Pupils of the British Section are integrated into the French educational system and follow a French/English bilingual programme taught at the Victor Hugo Collège/Lycée and its primary feeder school Lucie Aubrac both in Colomiers. Currently over 400 pupils aged from 5 to 18 follow this programme, leading to the international option of the French Baccalaureate (OIB).

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced English Literature and Language specialist to lead a small committed team in the delivery of our curriculum to students aged 11 to 18 years and possibly in primary school. This is an exciting middle-management opportunity in this unique school environment.

The successful candidate will be a native English-speaking graduate who possesses a teaching qualification from an English-speaking country. Having taught in an anglophone country is essential as is significant experience of subject teaching. Familiarity of the International Option of the French Baccalaureate would be an advantage as would a working knowledge of French.

The successful candidate will also have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Record check.
